The Center for Integrated Agriculture is now open in Parrish, Florida, on Gamble Creek Farm. It is located on 26 acres (Agricultural zoning) on Golf Course Road adjacent to Gamble Creek.
Gamble Creek Farm is one of the ways in which the Florida West Coast Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) is implementing its goals of helping local businesses meet the demand for local food. This site demonstrates water resource management principles and facilitates training farmers by assisting them in launching their own businesses. There is a "Beginning Farmer Library" housed in the new building.
The site includes:
- Demonstration and evaluation of high-tech integrated water resource management, including automation of different alternative water sources such as reclaimed water, surface water, and well water
- Business incubation facilities and services for agricultural businesses
- Alternative energy technologies as appropriate
- Partnership involvement in program delivery to maximize service to clients
